Rudolf Egli AG Bestattungen Bern
General Terms and Conditions (GTCs)
- EGLI BESTATTUNGEN carries out exclusively burial and funeral services contracts which were awarded by an entitled relative or legally authorised person.
- The client will receive a written confirmation of contract. After immediate and careful review, a signed copy of the confirmation of contract must be returned to EGLI BESTATTUNGEN.
- In the case of so-called “community burials” one must take into account that the residential community of the deceased will only pay certain clearly defined services and fees. The client must pay the costs for any and all additional services.
- EGLI BESTATTUNGEN is strictly not liable for valuables such as jewellery, watches, items placed in coffins, flower arrangements, decorations in publicly accessible visitation rooms and funeral halls as well as cemeteries and crematoria.
- Any valuables that are found on the deceased will be given to the family together with a written inventory of the items. The document must be signed by the family members.
- The costs and/or fees for crematoria and cemeteries will only be pre-financed EGLI BESTATTUNGEN in well-justified exceptional cases and then billed to the family of the deceased.
- The costs of services and articles will be billed after the completion of services (as a rule after the interment). The term of payment is 30 days net.
- The costs for services and articles will be listed in detail and billed at the currently applicable rates for EGLI BESTATTUNGEN. The value-added tax (VAT) will be stated in the invoiced total and added.
- The following rules apply to the financing of transportation of deceased persons to foreign countries: Swiss citizens and/or foreigners with residency permits of class C must pay half of the billed amount in advance. Persons who are resident abroad must pay the entire amount in advance.
- In the case of transport involving aircraft, the liability of EGLI BESTATTUNGEN ends after the coffin is handed over at the airport. The shipping company, airline, foreign funeral services company and/or family members are responsible for loading, flight and pick-up at the destination airport.
- The costs for burial and funeral services can be paid from the estate of the deceased. In the event that settling the estate proves to be a lengthy process, EGLI BESTATTUNGEN can demand default interest.
- The contract for funeral and burial services proceeds after the death of the testator. The waiver of rights to inheritance frees the family members from assuming the debts of the deceased but not from assuming the funeral and burial costs stated in the contract for funeral services. In accordance with the ruling of the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland, the client must pay for the services and articles ordered.
