Swiss Coffins • Urns
Over 90% of the coffins and urns we use are manufactured in Switzerland. All models of coffins and urns shown are available from our warehouse in Bern.
In selecting a coffin or an urn, different aspects play a role: which model fits the deceased; what the family members like; applicable regulations of the cemetery; how much a certain model costs.
EGLI BESTATTUNGEN offers a large selection of coffin models for burial or cremation. There is also the option of selecting from various features (coffin pillows, upholstery). In the showroom in our funeral parlour we will be glad to show you a selection from our coffin models and features.
We also have a variety of models of urns made of different materials. Some models are intended for interment in a cemetery while others are better suited to serve as so-called decorative urns for keeping in a special place. You will find a large portion of the models of urns we have available in the showroom at our funeral parlour.
Please note: at certain cemeteries, cemetery rules allow only special eco-urns or wooden urns to be used for internment in a common grave in a grassy area [lawn; field]. To some extent only bio-degradable urns may be used in urn graves. We will be glad to provide you with information.
In many cemeteries a grave marker (cross or similar symbol) is required for internment in an individual or family grave. The marker is labelled with the name and the birth and death dates of the deceased person until such time when the family is permitted to set a gravestone. We offer a selection of grave crosses. You will find these in the display at our business premises as well.
In the case of common graves there is often the option of placing the name of the deceased, which would be engraved along with the birth and death dates. You can obtain application forms at the responsible cemetery or from us.
